While the influence of the Western actors is getting weaker, bound by continued confrontations of the Russian Federation predominantly with Ukraine, but in essence with the entire world, as well as the creeping crises in the Middle East which, as we have learned from the case of escalation of conflict between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the State of Israel, the Republic of Turkey is spreading its political, economic and security presence in the Western Balkans fast. Through infrastructural projects, stable relations with the political elites, religious diplomacy and intensified security engagement, Ankara is attempting to continuously build a long-term network of influence that surpasses classical bilateral relations. In parallel with the growing competition of great powers, whose spears broke over our region many times throughout the history, the Western Balkans is becoming a space of redefinition of regional alliances and interests. The key question is not whether the Republic of Turkey is continuing to strengthen its influence in the field, but what consequences such a situation development could have to the political and security architecture of the region…The most important decisions are made by the ones who understand what others do not see. Through multidisciplinary approach, our team offers in-depth analyses, strategic assessments and expert projections, based on detailed understanding of the political, security, geopolitical and information environment.
